Just put a gate plug-in on the mics and then they won’t pick up the other Mics. Then you guys can sit as close as you want. A Gate will make the mics only pick up sound above a certain volume. it’s commonly used when micing multiple instruments in a recording studio such as a drum set. Also, if you need an audio engineer hit me up lol.
