America unveiled a hypersonic missile called the mako last week. It’s only mach 5 compared to russia’s mach 12 or 16 whatever it is. that said it’s compatible with the top fighters like f18, f22, f35. it’s solid rocket fuel and has its own maneuvering. just like with nuclear and space programs america is trying to catch up to russia’s advances.

also of interest the UK is speeding up deployment of a laser based missile defence system called dragon fire. It looks like a gimmick and its not ready yet but they’re presenting it as something real.
