Fred Hampton worked with overtly racist groups on issues where they agreed. What would Cornell West (and others) think of that? Class consciousness seemed to be severely lacking from West’s thought process and campaign platform. It’s amazing how some people are against working with Libertarians and right-wingers to end the Ukraine war and prevent a nuclear holocaust whereas revolutionary leaders in the past worked with groups that were clearly racist. Today the so-called left won’t even work with right-wingers who aren’t even racist. As Nader said, we won’t get the unstoppable force u less we’re willing to work together, even with people whom we may have some disagreements. The ruling class is united and the 99% must as well.
How many Americans truly believe that white people are “superior” to all other people because of some inherent quality that only white have? How many actually act on these beliefs (violence, discrimination, hate speech, etc)? What percentage? 0.25%? Less? What percentage are trans? 0.01%? West would get far more votes talking about issues that affect everyone: economics, inflation, loss of civil liberties, healthcare, etc. You don’t ignore other issues but you give them the appropriate amount of time. West not having advisors is also worrying. He’s taking donations but doesn’t seem to have a platform or any idea how to run for office. Sad. I wanted to vote for him, but I can’t.
Cornell West did not mention one single policy he was running for president for. All I heard was LGBT, identity politics, and “white supremacy.” Doesn’t seem like he’s changed gears at all. He’s running for president he’s not teaching a class in a liberal college. And his complete lack of interest in the authoritarian Covid policies that cost millions of Americans their jobs, pushed hundreds of millions into extreme poverty, transferred trillions to the billionaire class and set the stage for a totalitarian surveillance state was shocking. That’s not hi concern because he I more interested in trans rights, something affecting 0.001% of the population. West seems to be running as an anti-populist candidate. Strange. JD did a great job interviewing West. JD clearly wants a candidate that will gather the most votes possible. JD’s trying to help West, who, sadly, isn’t interested.
Primegm is clearly only hate-watching and it wouldn’t surprise me if they were from one of those shitty YouTube shows that constantly makes videos about Jimmy. There’s a few of them and they need to content so they probably subscribe. They’re riding Jimmy’s coattails hard. Why else would you pay to watch something you cleary hate? Completely agree. It’s like West is running as an anti-populist. He talked more about white supremacy and trans issues than any other substantive policies. Very disappointing. Thank God for Jimmy. I just watched Sabby’s show and her take on the West interview and what she and many other are FAILING to realize is this is NO longer white vs black! This is RICH VS POOR! And the rich are winning! Why are they so willing to sacrifice white poor people? because they don’t see color anymore when it comes to rich vs poor! Rich people own this world and as Jimmy pointed out with the white comedian who grew up just as poor as black folks “we are all in the same boat”! West should have just talked about his policies NOT about Trump or White Supremacy which is ALL he talked about and said working class matters he “didn’t care about them”.
