“The New American Militarism: How Americans Are Seduced by War” by Col. Andrew Bacevich (ret.) is very good he covers all that stuff in our culture , ribbons, corporate half time thank a vet shows, the creation of an all volunteer force that creates a separate culture and allows going to war easier and the battle of US Generals like Colin Powell to set rules to not allow politicians to get country into another Vietnam again through the 91 Gulf War but eventually being subverted by the Bush/Cheney era.
