the lady at the beginning really thinks that the US is the only bastion of freedom among the hundreds of countries?
this is the very foundation for the imperialist “let’s bomb the shit out of these non-Western countries” attitude. if you are “freedom”, everyone else is “oppression” and that entitles you to ruin these “oppression” places.
she’s one of these people that says all the right things when it comes to certain discussion points, facts and factoids, but tries to uphold the current narrative the US has of itself; thus making people choose between things that can be argued are more correct in certain situations and things they have been drilled to believe in. she’s delivering the very counterpoint to everything she’s rattling off and seemingly agreeing with Jimmy. a counterpoint that is psychologically 100x more relevant than some facts that feel bad.
she’s like that guy from Canada Jimmy had on a few months ago: saying the right things, but making sure nobody does anything to upset the apple cart by baking in these psychology framing points. in his case it was “we gotta stay civilized and be the adults” or whatever he said. basically, we can’t resist cause that would make “us” look bad.
she says we can’t resist cause *whatever the horrific shit military industrial complex is doing*, “we” are the ONLY bastion of freedom. she does not say it in the sense that she spells it out. but in people’s heads, that’s the message that is much easier to swallow:
“some part of the freedom machinery does bad things, sure, but since everywhere else is no freedom to begin with, maybe it’s better in the long run”
Jimmy understands this, so did Tucker Carlson.
Jimmy says America is the worlds terrorist. only saying it THAT clearly he can give people permission to accept that these bad things are not done for good reasons. people need to break that programming. this helps them.
this lady wants to keep you locked in, no matter what the facts and arguments are she overtly preaches. she may be completely unaware – or she simply objects for financial or practical reasons to the US destroying every nation that does want real freedom from its corrosive shackles, or dares to want to sell its natural resources at market price, not for free
