I love the Bitcoin evangelists…as your guest said it’s “mathematically” proven! Hilarious. Jimmy, if you bought your Bitcoin two years ago at $68K (or at $58K or $48K or $38K) you’re a bag holder…it’s now $26K…that’s some stable currency.
Also, the crime/murder rate decline in El Salvador has nothing to do with Bitcoin…
Sorry Jimmy, you know I love you guys. This bitcoin guy doesn’t know much about anything. Couple passable takes. Really ignorant on other stuff. Obviously all his wealth is tied up in bitcoin.
The Miller light commercial could have been funnier. She was a scold, but you missed the bit about wtf they were actually doing! They want you to submit their old ads so they could shred them? Wtf kind of a waste of time and money is that? It’s about as much fake pandering as a soulless corporate harpy could concoct.
Exactly. JD (AND Mrs. JD, surprisingly) seem to share CG Jung’s SHADOW perspective (blind spot) on this: OBJECTIFYING and EXPLOITING the female gender… the GALS looove that! Just ask any guy.
O btw, AB InBev isn’t a Belgian company anymore. It had its roots in Belgium because it’s the country of beer. It’s now a global multinational company and has merged with several big Brazilian and US companies, it’s like Unilever, Nestlé or the Coca-Cola company. And regional representatives are responsible for the marketing BS. Advertisements of multinationals are targeted locally by local “chapters” other countries don’t have to deal with this weird unnatural advertisement. They tried the fat model thing over here (dove). It was canceled rapidly, and health officials and scientists as the public were horrified by it.
Good to hear that poll results and that Americans have a wake-up moment like after Iraq. I hope they stay awake longer. This literally can help the world and western cultures downstream from the US.
And I hope the US will be exporting some good cultural stuff to the rest of the world. Like truthful movies about the pandemic and corrupt politics, the Ukraine war etc. I mean, I do not understand how Hollywood keeps making useless and uninteresting crap while all the great ideas for somewhat original movies are there in front of them.
I am afraid Mr. Keiser is either lying or completely ignorant. Bitcoin can be manipulated in a multitude of ways, generally it is currently used to either scam people (bigger-fool scheme) or to advance the acceptance of electronic money over cash. “Proof-of-work” is nothing but an expensive way of turning electricity into heat. One thousandth of all power used worldwide IS A SHITLOAD of energy. That energy could be used for real stuff instead of supporting the crypto bros. The blockchain itself can only handle a small amount of transactions per time (the nodes need to be synchronized, other wise the local copy is useless), roughly a thousand times less than would be needed. If you need your transaction to go through urgently you actually pay a bribe (extra transaction fee over the one you already pay) to get it done. Also Bitcoin wallets get stolen all the time so it is the opposite of safe. Next there is the problem, that there is a ceiling to the total amount of coin that can be mined, after that there is no more new currency available while money gets lost due to said transaction fees.
Last point, you can control Bitcoin by having the most amount of computing power and ask yourself how “democratic” that is going to be.
There would be a lot more to say about the flaws in the principal idea, but it boils down to one simple point:
Cryptocurrency is a scam, no exceptions.
Okay, this is your hot propagandized take on it. Scams with legal tender credit cards are X100- 1000 times higher and getting your money out of an account in your hands takes weeks or months and costs you a premium as well if it’s even possible. Proof of work forces a real, none corruptible way of publicly verifiable publishing transactions. It’s not mutable but trackable, so complete transparency for criminals organization politicians and civilians. No shady obfuscation and preferable treatment by the banks for the elites. Sure it can be in proved and side networks leveraging it should be used more responsible. Your point of max supply makes it deflationary and makes products cost less overtime, naturally. Transactions fees give BTC back to miners, who distribute it back to the system. You are clearly not well-informed of the workings and why it’s unique and like any good movement it’s been high jacked, but the tech and base is solid. Don’t get me started on the energy consumption lies and how it can b reduced technically as well. It’s new, and it will take time, but if you like your current money loosing 2% in value every year in theory, in reality much higher, and now it’s over 10% year over year the last 2 years instead of the opposite okay man. What do they say if the system isn’t trying to cancel you aren’t doing it right

Hope everything is alright with Kurt!

The concept that appears to be eluding TJDS on the beer ad hot take is “objectification.”

Adds, crypto-bros and daily hour long culture war rants.
No thanks.
Seriously… this ep starting to smell

Oh dear. That was a whole lot of nonsense lol.
